888 Holdings in talks with US authorities

Online betting company 888 Holdings could be in for a rough ride from US authorities, it has emerged.Reports suggest the talks could be linked with 888's activities before the implementation of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act which completely banned online gambling in the US in October 2006.
The news comes despite the group's departure from the country after internet gambling was made illegal.
The group revealed that it had "initiated preliminary discussions" with the US Attorney's Office of Southern New York in relation to remaining legal problems in the country.
Yet 888 said it was "too early to assess any particular outcome of these discussions"
The comments come just a day after PartyGaming, a rival gambling site, also divulged they were in discussion with the US legal body.
