An
insurance company has informed British homeowners that organising cover for their properties is not as difficult as they might think.
Nationwide said that some people seem to be confused by the need for both buildings and contents
insurance policies and do not organise cover as a result.
However, failure to do so could be "putting your home at real risk", Nationwide campaigns manager Charlotte Sjoberg warned, particularly considering the bad weather conditions currently affecting the country.
She said: "What's really important for people to understand is that it's not complicated at all.
"Having building
insurance in particular is incredibly important as it covers things like fire, vandalism, storms and floods."
Ms Sjoberg added that Natiowide is currently trying to "re-incentivise" people to appreciate the importance of home
insurance.
A recent survey by the insurer found that 20 per cent of UK property owners do not have any buildings
insurance.
