Finally we have some light at the end of this very dark tunnel.

Having read the stock exchange announcement this morning, I am pleased to see that the Virgin bid has been put forward. Yes the shareholders will be heavily diluted, but it’s better to have an opportunity to get something than nothing.

We all know that this business is about people. And with a figurehead such as Branson leading the way, the country will rally round and a new business model will arise from the ashes.

Goodbye Northern Rock, hello Virgin Money.
