Is the current Chancellor Gordon Brown's puppet?
Following the announcement that the Chancellor blocked the sale of Northern Rock
I can’t help but think that it was anyone else but Gordon Brown PM calling the shots.
We are in the worst credit crisis since Trumpo can remember and I think that it could have been avoided if the Government had taken a common sense approach instead of hiding behind the red tape they created.
Whilst I accept that the government supporting a Lloyds TSB bid, could be seen by some to be extraordinary, it should still have taken this step. Surely the person who didn’t have the balls to say YES the deal is in the best interests of the country, should now fall on their sword. They got it wrong, dead wrong, so wrong that thousands of people are going to lose their jobs and property prices are going to suffer.
I can’t believe that the Chancellor didn’t consult with the PM and I would love to see the minutes of who attended and who said NO and who, if any, said YES. Surely extraordinary decisions should have and could have been taken? It would be nice to see who called it correct and if anybody in attendance said YES to support the Lloyds TSB deal. Otherwise the current government ministers are intellectually bankrupt.
This is going to run on for a very long time and somebody is going to have to take the hit.
