The history of Trumpo
In 1666 a correspondent reported to the Royal Society - "about two years since, there stranded upon the Coast of New-England, a large sperm whale, which they call Trumpo, the largest whale never to have been caught by man, such is the size of the whale that if ever it had been caught it would be worth many hundreds of pounds"
Throughout the world whales are a symbol of strength, security and freedom. Our little Trumpo was born in 2005 upon these fundamentals.
With the worldwide affection for whales and with the with Trumpo principles in mind, we carried out a great deal of research into what consumers want when they search the web. The majority of people use the web as an extremely efficient directory and information service, with most using a search engine to buy music, flights, holidays and car insurance etc. The overall impression is that if it's on the web, it will be cheaper, and with easy to compare products it usually is.
Our own research also showed that a very important factor when searching the web to buy a product is confidence in the results from a search. In most instances the person searching wanted to see well known brands that they can trust. With the continual reference to trust in mind, we decided to build on this and enhance the Trumpo experience by actually only delivering trusted content and businesses.
Where Trumpo goes that extra mile, and we hope makes people want to return, is that we will provide a service to act as a trusted gateway to a number of vetted professionals for subjects that need human interaction. The subjects most appropriate for this service are major financial transactions and usually require legal advice such as buying your first home or needing to plan for your retirement. With this in mind, members of the public can complete a simple enquiry form for many subjects and Trumpo will forward their enquiry to a vetted practitioner who specialises in their respective field. This qualified solicitor or financial adviser will have been referenced by Trumpo and will have been trading for a minimum of three years.
